This is a strange one. For me it's about a couple of people (not particularly romantically involved) who have a past that is perhaps unfavourable and are finding it hard to live normal lives because it is constantly getting in the way of the now. I've made it slightly ambiguous big i feel it can relate to people who used to be together who are having trouble beings friends, all the way to other extreme of two people who used to be criminals, who have given up their ways but know too much about each other to be able to trust each other anymore.
